Where I stand

On AI, plainly.

When AI image and video generation arrived, I was alarmed, and I still am. It's already reshaping an industry that was struggling before it showed up, and it's on a path to make skills I spent decades earning obsolete. I decided to learn it anyway.

I'm not replacing anyone with AI. I've built a hybrid pipeline inside my studio, for my own projects, where these tools sit alongside the traditional craft. I still model, texture, light, and build with real CG. But I won't pretend the new tools aren't powerful, and I'd rather understand them than be erased by them.

My industry work funds my own. I'm doing this in the open with one hope: that the business finds a way to use AI to extend the people who make the work, not as an excuse to cut their rates or replace them with cheaper labor. As long as it doesn't become just a vehicle to funnel money from artists to tech companies, there's a world where this is a net benefit. I'm not naive, I know my hope is just that. But film and television have always turned on new technology, and with luck this one is another revolution and not a death knell.
